CCA researchers win international prize

We are excited to announce that the paper “Immigrants, Imports, and Welfare: Evidence from Household Purchase Data”, co-authored by our Assistant Professors Christoph Albert and Brett McCully, in collaboration with Torsten Jaccard from the Vancouver School of Economics, has won the Wim Meeusen Prize.

This award is presented to the best paper by a young scholar at the 14th edition of the conference on the “Economics of Global Interactions: New Perspectives on Trade, Factor Mobility and Development”. The conference,  co-organized by the University of Bari, the Centre for Experimental Research on Fairness, Inequality, and Rationality (FAIR) at NHH Norwegian School of Economics and Master Economics of Globalisation and European Integration (EGEI), took place in Bari on September 9-10, 2024.

The winning paper offers insightful analysis into the intersection of immigration, international trade, and consumer welfare.
